Turning 18

You're beautiful,
like a wakening bud
of roses in a summer's breeze;
Your path is leading
to adulthood,
first steps you took

Your eyes set on what lays ahead,
you left behind your time
as child, but never
shut that door too tight,
because you might regret.

Life's new and you are
equal now to those
who told you what to do,
maybe only yesterday.

Smile and grab with
both your hands
all the opportunities
and make yourself
a happy life.

Thank you Luke Holm. I've never had such a lovely comment so fast after puplishing a poem. And yes, 18 is a beautiful age which I have passed long, long time ago

18! What a great age to be. I think you've captured the infinite possibility and ultimate beauty of this age quite well. Great job. Keep up the good work :)
