Touch: A Poem

Author:

I'm an amateur writer, and I enjoy sharing my tips and steps with you guys.

Touch

Touch,

I'm familiar with touch, I like to be touched

but I don't like to be touched

does that make sense

the light grazes brings me peace, and I'm grateful for them

but sometimes it makes my skin light up, burn whenever someone touches

I flinch away, and feel guilty because I did

touch is good, I should like it all the time

but sometimes, I just don't want to be bothered

I don't want the touch

not now.

Final Thoughts

Hey darlings! How are you?

This poem is actually based on myself. I like touch sometimes, but other times I just want to get away. I sometimes hate when people even graze me. It's been like this since I was a child, and I believe it's my anxiety that caused it. I've gotten better with it though!

Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoyed it!

See you later darlings!

Wonderful poetry. As long as you are your own best friend you will never be completely alone, I know I am mostly alone and me, myself, and I have become very good company.

You have explained this feeling very well Tia and I have a friend who also feels this way. It is related to anxiety and I'm so glad you are feeling better. I am always touched by your poetry.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on November 21, 2019:

I am certain you are not alone. I think your skin is more sensitive at times where you can feel the least little thing.

No worries...just be yourself.

Nice write.
