Insomniac: Tonight

Author:

Tonight

Sitting by my window
Holding my knee and a whiskey in a cup
My eyes feel like falling
But my mind, again ... thinking

I feel wasted but I can't do anything
I wanna get drunk and forget
But as I chug more and more
I feel even lonelier

I thought this whiskey could warm my heart
Could make me forget that I am bleeding
But it just made me realized everything

Tonight as I sleep
I will love you again in my dystopia
That in my dilapidated vision
You remained cool and stunning.

I wish I could do that Ruby, but honestly I don't go for dance, I really can't dance. But I go out to cool myself with the cold breeze outside.

Yes Gypsy, I will try that. Thank you always ❤

I am very sorry being super late again. I'm so caught up with my studies. But thank you so much Brenda. Your words are always been soothing for me. I'm always thankful for your presence. Just there are times that even you pamper yourself, it still feels bad. But thank you! God bless B❤

Great emotional piece. You have a great way with words Crezyl. Great poem.

Often times drugs like whiskey only enhance the pain we are feeling. Alcohol or Drugs are never the answer, they only cripple you more. Don't start to rely on those types of things to help you out of a bad place. They will only lead you further into darkness. Use positive outlets to keep the pain at bay. Like your writing (which is awesome by the way).

Purvi from India on January 20, 2020:

Wow!

Great poem. I like your other sad poem.

Don't drink whiskey because it's not the solution to your problem.

I want to see you happy and you write some happy or joyful poems.

Thanks for sharing this.

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on January 20, 2020:

I feel sad for you. The whisky only robs you of clear thinking. Call a friend and go out dancing, I bet you'll feel better. I hope so.

Gypsy Rose Lee from Daytona Beach, Florida on January 20, 2020:

The emotions just shine through but whiskey just won't do it. It is better to meditate on the heavens and find divine inspiration from above.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on January 20, 2020:

Crezyl,

Sorry your heart is feeling pain again.

The whiskey might make you numb enough to sleep but it only makes your mind think more.

I've done it. The loneliness just gets worse.

Sometimes you just have to sit back and watch with no words to the other.. let them realize what they are missing.

I feel for you.

Nice read.

Crezyl Joy Villa Sabrido (author) from Philippines on January 20, 2020:

Pamela, it is worse. Thank you for your kind words. Hopefully, I'll be happy soon.

Hi Charlie, that you for that sort of advice ❤

Crezyl Joy Villa Sabrido (author) from Philippines on January 20, 2020:

Yeah, I've realized that too Clive.

Thank you Eric❤

John, thank you for tirelessly reading my work. Yes, you're right, whiskey will never be the answer.

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on January 19, 2020:

Unfortunately Crezyl, the whiskey won't take the pain away. I think it may make you feel worse. Relationships can be painful when they don't work out but you will get through this in time. i wish you the best.

Charlie Halliday from Scotland on January 19, 2020:

Nice work Crezyl, but put down that whisky girl. From someone who knows the dangers.

Clive Williams from Jamaica on January 19, 2020:

the bottle can work magic yet makes you even sadder.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on January 19, 2020:

Been there and done that. I like this piece thank you.

John Hansen from Queensland Australia on January 19, 2020:

Ahh, Crezyl. Good to read another of your poems but it is another sad one. Whiskey isn't the anser is it? Though many seem to think so.
