To End This April With Couplets
This April has been an April of searching
through the rain I felt myself passing
I had fallen in the new April mud
carried down river upon the flood
I was reading modern poets ponder
place, where I once felt the need to wander
then one evening I read to my daughter
T.S. Eliot's "Book of Cats" to her
remembered the love of the lyrical
rhymes that are subtle and satirical
I found my line again in family
April seems to work in a subtle way
April has taught me things will move on
now I know the foundation is not gone
with grateful heart I welcome each change
new seeds have been placed to rearrange.
