Tired and Still Have Room for More Love

Updated on February 13, 2018

Busy Day

Every day you have a routine

Figuring out what you need to do

My body feels tired

In a good way

I have a job to go to

Then when I get time to rest

I think of what I love to do best

All the joy of love

That comes natural

Never a struggle

The wonderful feelings that translate into beautiful sensations

That make up a world of tingles

Yes I am talking about those spine chilling, rhythmic pulses

Once you had one you always want more

With so many things in life to think about

This is the very tippity, top of my list

I must insist

In a short time span

Some things can be dreadful

That I can't wait to forget

Then there are unique circumstances that can dominate every thought

I concentrate

Then find ways to repeat each moment

Bringing it back as soon as it has left

This time stronger with more energy and zest

Some people find it so hard to explain

They never dare talk about it

Other people hint around the bush

I personally like to use a more subtle approach

Where you can follow me right from the start

Even on a slow day

I am not far from the pack

As I round the corner

I fall a little behind

Just practicing my stride

I cut to the inside

Where I begin to make my move

Stride for stride

I am gaining a little at a time

Now pulling a tiny little lead

Ever so slight

Now my opponents begin to weaken

As I look to my left I see Doubt

Then as I go even faster

Problems start to slip behind

Lazy now gets a side cramp

Ahead I see Frustration

Still in a good lead

Insecurity is having trouble

Impossible is struggling

This is where I focus

I take deep breaths and practice great control

I have been here many times before

In the past I have lost many races

I have also won more times than I can remember

Each day may be the same on the outside

Inside there are so many other hidden emotions at play

So I keep from being frustrated and put down

By clowning around

Turning each unhappy feeling into a real person

Then taking all the things that I love

Contentment, satisfaction, comfort, passion

Pride, energy, desire and help mold me

Each time adding a little more than before

In the end I know I have given it my best shot

There was no need to compromise and find short cuts

The long way is the best way

Each time I practice

I learn more about myself

Giving me the most reward

Gypsy Rose Lee I think we are always growing from the inside and out. We may not want to deal with our emotions and think we can control them but we are who we are. I could be mistaken I thought writers write their best when they reach people in the core of their emotions. Feeling the loss, happiness and every emotion in between is life. Trying to force too much of one feeling happiness or pain leads to disaster. Your best writings come from you experiencing each feeling in the moment. If you write what other people want to read but you are not happy what you are doing writing becomes a job not a passion. I strongly believe if we follow our passion we will end up happier. Thank you for reading and sharing. I know you want to do so many things. We have to take one step at a time before we learn to run. There are many things we learn in the growth spurts of our life. To miss out on that is like buying a delicious chocolate cake that we wanted eat then leaving it on the counter for weeks being afraid to have the first piece. Then we find out the cake is no good and we lost out on eating, sharing and enjoying every piece. Have fun and enjoy the journey as well as the destination.

Nicely penned. Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's. You know my thoughts now are that I have put love on the shelf perhaps in the years I have left of my life I can cash in on what I have learned and know about love. That would satisfy me greatly just have to find the right romantic niche.

Louise Powles Your thoughtfulness came at a perfect time. It is always nice to see someone appreciate a story/poem stoem on paper. I enjoy writing them and I try to bring out the good in life in the every day routine of being ourselves. Sometimes I get caught up and go to deep. I hope you had a beautiful Valentine's Day and you are having lots of fun.
