Wisdom From The Master

"I depend on You.

Your Feet of Truth always shelter me.

Truth is my Eternity's only achievement.

In my words and deeds,

May the Charioteer of Truth who carries me,

Drive His Truth-chariot to the Reality unknown." -Sri Chinmoy

Swans Glide Elegantly, on a Serene Lake

The rays of Light keep shining,

In the illustrious garden of each soul.

No one is truly fettered by their chains,

Just simply dealing, with its own journey.

Look at the rose, it’s full of thorns,

Yet holds my gaze, with its immaculate beauty.

Isn’t the peace of solitude experienced

Even in the darkest night?

My friends, the fog that lingers in our struggle,

Like dark clouds, Is only a temporary shadow.

It Is no match for the Love that blossoms,

In the sacred tabernacle of the Spirit!

Lantern says: "The lashing of waves will ultimately subside;

Swans glide elegantly, on a serene lake."

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 15th September, 2018

Awakening The Inner Light

This Great Delusion

O Love, I take what You’ve given, to be my own.

Deep down in the valley of self-delusion,

I say ‘me’ and ‘mines’; ‘possess’, or be ‘possessed.’

So much bargaining, my Sweetheart!

But doesn’t everything belong to You?

I have forgotten this sacred secret.

My attachments and my ownerships,

Are but temporal loans from Thy abode --

Necessary tools for my experiences.

Who owns what? Can rain water drink its showers?

Sea water serenades the pearl, which

May tomorrow lie, in the rich man’s house.

Lantern knows that he is the Light of Lights,

Experiencing these shadows. O my Beautiful One, Come!

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 16th September, 2018

And let me be

Well I gues it's because you love life. Some common sense too, i suppose.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on September 18, 2018:

Just reminded me of a camp just the other night. I used an electric "lamp - torch" because of fire danger. I still do not know the relevance to life.

Haha, my Li -Jen. Bless you. Thanks a million!

Hey Manatita. I see that the swans are really bathing in the Light. In the first poem, it is the Soul and Love (Light) that won't be ruled over by Darkness. I can feel the determination of the soul in the presence of thorns and shadows...That's right, the earth's resources are not ours. There is a limit like how the rain water cannot drink its own shower. Thanks for sharing. :)

You honour me too much, my Bro. God bless your Heart. Peace.

Rinita,

Indeed. That is the Buddhas' message. The transcience of the mundane. Hold fast to the Love that endures. Om Shanti!

Ioannis Arvanitis from Greece, Almyros on September 18, 2018:

The things you own, own you...

My dear Brother, these two sublime poems have so many excellent verses to discuss with my students and make them mottoes for their lives! Thank you for the Soul "food". I think you are at your best!

Gratitude!

There is something serene about swans swimming across a lake, although we never see how vigorously they paddle in order to get to the shore. Your second poem is a reminder about how often we, the selfish humans, violate the code of nature, to possess something that goes to the trash one day. Enjoyed both poems immensely.

"No one is truly fettered by their chains." Thank you for sharing this lovely thought.

You are awakening to the Love, Mary. I tell you nothing new. We are all one in Spirit. Love is our Cause, our Guide ... our compassionate Source. We are all caged- birds re-awakening to the song of Oneness. Amitabha! Buddha Bless you!

Mary Norton from Ontario, Canada on September 17, 2018:

It Is no match for the Love that blossoms,

In the sacred tabernacle of the Spirit!

I just love these lines. You express so well the inner depth that your words invite me to go deeper ito my own Spirit. Thank you.
