These Comments

I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.

Read your comments, do you like them or just scroll through?

What influence do these comments have on you?

Did these comments motivate and inspire?

Or did they push you over the edge because they called you a fake and a liar?

I saw the picture you posted of your new do.

But the commentators knew it wasn’t so and saw right through

They could have past your post and remain dumb

But social media commentators are a firing gun

I read one comment where a guy said you should go die

I replied and asked him why

He answered with a line of expletives that had no gain

And at that point I knew he had no brain

Remember though, whatever you post will garner people views

So be prepared to get likes, but especially prepare for verbal abuse

I personally like to comment on images i see or articles I read

And I also read others people comment to see what they believe

Some are simply jokers you should ignore

But some comments are rotten down to the core.

Sometime I myself get a little cheeky and stir up the ants nest

Because I want to get peoples real reaction to Earth's mess

I hear that some comments have lead people to taking their own lives

Those kind of comments are certainly not nice.

But once you are plugged in on the Global wire called the internet

And have a social presence with pics and posts.

You will garner some bad comments, but good ones the most.

Awww...aren't you sweet. I read your work because it's always entertaining. Have a good day.

Thanks Paula, I do appreciate your comments. I did not even notice I will be sure to return your blessing.

Clive....I get lots and lots of comments on my work and I must say that I welcome & enjoy them all. I don't recall any nasty comments except maybe one or two, which I quickly deleted. I don't accept nasty.....those people need to get a damned life.

I'm very appreciative of my visitors. It tells me they like my work and that my articles mean something to them. What more can a writer want? I always try to return the gestures. In fact, here I am commenting on your work, when I don't believe you've ever visited my site once. That obviously doesn't matter to me. Keep writing young man.

We are both in the same boat as it relates to comments Jodah. But now and then you will have someone who forgot to take their meds comment radical.

John Hansen from Queensland Australia on October 16, 2018:

Clive, I love reading my comments and 99% are positive so that’s good. On Facebook I get a lot of shares and likes or reactions bu5 very few comments, so it’s mostly here. Wow, Bill is on empty up o; me with that death threat. I guess some people take exception to quail breeding. Fun poem.

Clive Williams (author) from Jamaica on October 16, 2018:

Death threat Bill...that's crazy...whose girl did you steal man...?

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on October 16, 2018:

I have received death threats before, a few years ago on one Hub...but usually comments on my hubs are respectful and helpful and yes, I read them all.
