The Star (poem)
What can I say to ease another day
As twilight seems to settle on a hill
While other hearts await its silken thrill
To see the star which day has cast away
-
A star to fill a dream that now is still
Yet still it shines forever on display
Still holds my hand hears every word I say
Still offers hope of thrill it will fulfill
-
And though my star was taken by the sun
And others eyes she happened to delight
And other times she had no shine to share
-
Onward I drift again to be as one
Amid the star who fills my glass tonight
And when tomorrow comes I will be there

Poignant and lovely. That's a haunting song, by the way.
