the-house-at-the-corner

Standing on the narrow lane,

I see a house standing alone.

No life, no joy playing there.

Only a gloomy shadow dancing out.

Whose house was that ?

Was is all alone or any life living there ?

Sometimes I see a light flickering.

In a second or two it fades away.

Affecting me to the core.

I sit on the steps of my house and keep staring.

Wondering what might have befallen ?

Why did the house looked so sad and bereaved .

Was it cursed or just forlorn.

I kept wondering often almost every night.

Even now when I pass by those lanes,

I lift my eyes and stare.

Wondering where has it's inmates gone by.

Abandoning the house on it's fate to flare
