The Downpour

Oluwatobiloba is an undergraduate of the University of Lagos and a lover of poetry

The Downpour

Deafening splatterings,

Diverging moist scent of earth,

Piercing my nostrils.

Ushering in the train,

Of the stunning bride of soothe.

My ear listened soft.

My gaze swept along,

Across trees and coppices

Dancing to the melody,

And moving to the beats

Of the gentle breeze,

Oh! What a thundery serene.

My eyes bowed to sleep.
