The Author

Her darkness was an opposing contrast with the night

Her hair afloat on the wind

She would never reach the desired height

And the light would overcome her skin

He would take delight in her suffering

Overcome with blistering rage

The victim drowning in guilt

The officer will remember her sigh

He world forever on a tilt

The author was one that would die

But, both of them paid the price of a lie
