She was a witch
He was a warrior
They had boy sick with a curse
Like their village.
The boy died in her soft hands
The village was silent
But she said the wolves took him
Village was sick the moment they came.
The man was back from fighting
News of his boy’s death reached him
Wife’s gone and fled
The man wants to kill the wolves.
A good man tried to help her
But she can’t be helped
For darkness has consumed her
White skin in contrast to her soul.
The man tracked his prey
Like the good hunter that he is
But it was the only good thing in him now
For wrath has devoured him.
His bow is ready
Crimson is all that he can see
Now he’s found fresh tracks
Even hell can’t stop him now.
In sheep’s clothing she stood there
Eyes to eyes with her man
She’s not wrong when she said
That the wolves took her boy.
Only it was her.
She was the wolf all along.
He lets out a bawl
But the village was still silent.

Such a powerful play of words. It is immensely intriguing and interesting to follow each word.
So sad, at the ending.
