Poem: The Trudgery of Life

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

The trudgery of life is a poem anout how one stands alone trying to make sense of his scattered thoughts. He searches for a guiding light. He often fails, falling down & then picking himself back up to start his journey again. Giving up is too easy.

"Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up

The Trudgery of Life

Standing alone

within the mist of darkness,

searching fearlessly for a guiding light

to help me understand

those scattered thoughts within my mind.

As I trudge onward through this blindness

I carelessly stumble

falling down within a dark pit,

which returns me to the beginning

of this long, hard journey.

Often times

I consider giving up this adventure,

but that would seem too simple,

much like failure,

so gradually I climb the same steep cliff

cautiously watching each step taken,

for now I am determined to succeed,

turning back is just too easy.

"Sia - Never Give Up ( from the Lion soundtrack)

Carelessly stumbling through life's journey

I did manage to write a couple of articles on Cats, but they too are my passion.

Yes, I did try to write an article but my passion lies elsewhere.

I am so glad I decided to write from my heart. I also post on Allpoetry. It seems a little more fun with daily challenges for my work.

I do enjoy Hubpages i just wish there was more interaction between writers.

Thank you for reading my work. It is greatly appreciated.

I was going through your HP postings...the first one was on printers, and all the rest were poems. I laughed. I did the same thing many moons ago. I wrote a real estate article about staging your home for sale, and then I came to my senses and wrote from my heart. And I'm still here loving HP. Lovely poem, by the way. My dad used to say "never give up ground; always move forward. "

Yes once we start the journey it is no good turning back, that is giving up. There may be obstacles in the way but if we are wary there is usually a detour around them that still leads us in the right direction. Nice poem.
