The Poem
I gallop
Through the hedges of yesteryear
Unto the golden, glorious sun
Leaving the marshes behind
Into the arms of the open desert
I gallop
Mindless of the unknown morrow
With unwavering purpose and dignity
Unaware of the solitude
That lies beyond the world of hurt
I gallop
A pace of rage, the calmness within
Fearless eyes, I sprint with positivity
The cloud of dust, rises and falls
Dark bushes, clear skies, I skirt
I gallop
The warm ocean beckons me
Beyond the comfort of hearth
I intend to return, but not this day
My final steps from dust and dirt
