The Pain ~ Deep in My Soul

Sometimes in the evening, I have a secret pain.

Deep in my soul; I don't know how to say it.

If I could one day shout it out loud

But not knowing how to speak, I can only moan.

Oh sing, sing, my pain and my sorrow ...

If the setting sun lent its ear a little

And to encourage me stretched out its hand a little

I would take its rays streaming with ruddy ...

I would make it the brush to draw my complaint

Like a canvas of Monet blurred with tears

Where the sun with the water lilies mixes its colors

Sun misted up with the tears of my pain.

If the birds of the sky could lend their voice

To my anguished heart to say its martyrdom

If their carefree twitterings of joy

Come to my aid to fulfill my desires,

I would take their songs to express my sorrow

And turn my sobs into an evening lament

For name the enemy who holds me in his chains:

Solitude ... O, who will come to break your clasp?

Zeenat, this poem is beautifully worded, even if it is about sorrow. I love the stanza:

I would make it the brush to draw my complaint

Like a canvas of Monet blurred with tears

Where the sun with the water lilies mixes its colors

Sun misted up with the tears of my pain.
