The Return to Me

Miranda is a lover and writer of science fiction, short stories, and poetry.

The Return to Me

The Return

I held him tight

With all my might tonight

He reached out

But said no goodbyes

I dreamt he would return

But where he was going guaranteed nothing

Others have gone and stayed

Others have returned but strayed

I wept because I was not sure

His return would make him change

It will not be a return to me, to us

I wept, I sobbed, I wept, and sobbed

As I said goodbye

to us

Nicely done! Your photo is so sweet and says so much. I'm anxious to treat myself to more of your work.

Thank you.

Sometimes it is a necessary step for one to be absent for awhile.

Maybe the "us" will eventually find it's way back.

Nice write.
