Your White Clouds of Fire Burns Within

"Come! My cute firefly, let us be like twinkling stars,

Whirling and dancing in indigo rays,

On the immeasurable sweetness of the soul.

Let my shimmering Light illumine the Heart,

Whispering illustrious chords of Love,

To arouse the sweet rhapsody of the Spirit.

" I'm so drunk, my Beloved,

What is this intoxicant of which You speak?"

" Let me part your lips wide open;

Waltz on the rhythm of thy breath.

I wish to flood your being with kisses,

So thy core trembles in the ecstasy of Bliss."

"Come! My Queen. Let your white clouds of fire burn within,

To satiate the intensity of my longing."

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier.

Wisdom-Quotes from Sri Chinmoy

"Concern, compassion, love: these are three rungs in one ladder." Sri Chinmoy

" Compassion is far beyond the domain of all laws...in the spiritual life, compassion is nothing other than oneness itself. Compassion does not mean a sense of pity. Compassion is the expansion of what one eternally is.”

"Grace is universal. Like rain, everybody can receive it. Compassion is like a magnet which is pointed at only some individuals. Compassion is more intense than Grace. That is why I use the term Compassion much more in our philosophy. In the case of true spiritual seekers, Compassion is much more important." -Sri Chinmoy

Quote from the Master

"...if there is love, then there is concern; and if there is concern, then there is compassion. It is like the seed, the plant and the flower or fruit. This moment love can play the role of the seed, and then from the seed comes the tree, which is concern. Then from the concern-tree comes the compassion-fruit, which flowers into oneness." -Sri Chinmoy

Nice.

You should do an analysis of one of my poems one day. You tead them well. Gratitude, Li-Jen.

Li-Jen Hew on June 09, 2018:

Hey Manatita. Fireflies against the backdrop of the night sky reminds me of Light and Love. The poem carries a melodious tune with the waltz, chords of Love, rhythm. The Come! shows compassion because it's voluntary and inclusive. Thanks for sharing! :)

I am so glad I came back. I was upside down. My normal perspective is sideways. You got me back. Now I can write my technical stuff. Thanks.

manatita44 (author) from london on May 30, 2018:

Lol.Too true. But you might see the world upside down. Haha. Thanks a lot Eric.

I suppose I have done the Machiavelli and Marco Polo and your merchant and toss in De Vince and a cowboy after reading Plato. And then you toss in Paul and Christ.

I cannot see the road ahead if I look through my rear view mirrors.

Thanks

The poem is lovely and Sri Chinmoy's quotes are thought provoking. His description of compassion is wonderful.

manatita44 (author) from london on May 28, 2018:

LindaL,

Compassion is much, much deeper. As humans we have so little of this! We feel concern yes, empathy, yes, but Compassion is missing.

Compassion comes from oneness. You know that you thumb is as important as your little finger and so they work as a team. Guruji does say, however, that if Love is present, concern will also be present.

He is talking about divine Love and so Compassion will be there also. Compassion is rain and Grace is rain but the former is a torrential downpour. I suspect that few humans truly feel this powerful attribute of God. Guruji says that when it descends, it sometimes withdraws as humans do not generally receive it. We cannot hold it.

Sometimes God uses his Justice-Light but Compassion hides even in God's Justice. But to me, it is all explained in Guruji's writings above. These are just tiny bits, of course. There's a whole lot more.

Thank you so much!

Linda Lum from Washington State, USA on May 28, 2018:

Manatita is compassion the logical offspring of concern? I believe that many express concern but do not allow their feelings to be carried further. Does not compassion mean that one gives of oneself totally, in body, mind, and spirit, to the betterment of the one in harm's way?

manatita44 (author) from london on May 28, 2018:

Thanks Bill.

Pretty up there these two. Inseparable friends. So nice of you to recognise this. Peace.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on May 28, 2018:

I know quite a few Christians who would do well to read this. It is something I have always tried to remember.....mercy and compassion are my job as a human being. Anything short of that is a disservice.

Peace always my friend.
