My Morning Cup of Tea—My Blissful Moments!

The morning cup of tea time,

Is my most blissful time;

When we both, just sit quietly,

With our hot cup of tea;

Reading the newspapers,

Feeling content, doing nothing;

With the mind being relaxed,

And the soul being rejuvenated;

Is it the effect of the brew, or the aroma,

Or, is it the attractive tea cups;

No dear—it’s the togetherness,

The companionship of a lifetime;

The feeling of satisfaction,

That we still have ‘today’,

The joy of watching the Sunrise together,

Makes us thank ‘His Grace’ silently;

For assigning us, yet another day,

Full of infinite possibilities.

The Morning Sunrise, brings along Hope and Aspirations.

      Thanks BRENDA, for sharing your thoughts on this poem.

      The morning tea is a habit for me and I enjoy it peacefully, to get ready for the day, both physically and mentally. In the winter season, it is more necessary to have it, for keeping warm. Glad you liked the theme of the poem.

      Thank you and Have a good day.

      Chitrangada,

      You painted a wonderful peaceful picture in my mind.

      It would be so nice to sit in the morning with a cup of tea sharing the company of another.

      I only fix a pot if its really cold outside in the mornings.

      Thanks for sharing.

      This is a beautiful poem. My husband drinks tea and I drink coffee. Still, when we sit together in the morning sipping beverages in the morning, it is a great way to start the day.

      Thank you Peg, for sharing your thoughts here!

      This is wonderful to know, that most of the readers can relate to this. This was spontaneous, and I am happy to read everyone’s response.

      It’s so easy to find happiness, in simple things of life.

      That reminds me of a quote, “ It is so easy to be happy, but it’s so difficult to be simple.”

      Thank you once again, for reading and commenting! Wish you a wonderful day!

      Agree with your views. Tea or coffee can’t be enjoyed alone. It is the time spent with family and friends, that makes the tea time, or coffee time special.

      Thanks for always encouraging me with your kind words of appreciation! Have a blessed day!

      2nd note: I went to the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1993. It was the 100th Centenary and the first since Vivekananda in 1893. There was a tea ceremony done by the Japanese, I believe. Incredibly beautiful!

      You are right, togetherness is the first step towards blissful oneness. This pious relationship of a lifetime has to be nurtured with affection, understanding, commitment and care.

      Thank You so much for your kind words. It’s the positive feedback by fellow writers, such as you, that provides all the encouragement to keep me going.

      Best drink of the day. I run downstairs in my bare feet, put the kettle on the cooker to boil (have dispensed with the electric one) and take the tea and biscuits back up to bed where my partner and I read the latest news. There's something indispensable about an unhurried start to the morning, puts your mood on an even keel for the rest of the day. And what better than your poem to read too!

      Oh, Honey, it's all of the above. To bask in the joy of being together and being blessed with a roof over one's head and to afford to drink tea out of pretty little cups along with watching a beautiful sunrise. For my house it is coffee, but the feeling is there.You have put it all into such pretty verse.

      I must admit that I am not a purist in my reading, meditation and prayer. First things first. That wonderful cup of fresh brewed tea or coffee. Of course a walk outside together. Wow i am spoiled. Thank you for this wonderful tribute to possibly the most serene moment of a day.
