The Memorable Month of May

Poetry is turning out to be a very cathartic medium, I should do this more often.

Set the Mood

Down to 228 from 260! Wooo!

Down to 228 from 260! Wooo!

Sunny day, oh sunny day,

All our friends are out to play.

What more could I say,

About this lovely month of May?

My rose bush is in full bloom,

Despite the threat of COVID doom.

Sun washes away all rainy gloom,

So does COVID continue to loom.

Words of strangers straight to the heart,

Fiery friendships did end and start.

Painted ladies with lips so tart,

You’d best avoid them if you’re smart.

So we make our way to the park,

Whistling the tune of baby shark.

You know our tans are becoming stark,

We can’t help but admire the skin so dark.

Calling my name, who could it be,

Should I turn and look to see?

When I did so, filled with glee,

At the sight of a woman staring at me.

It was my love, the one so true,

The one who stuck, just like glue.

She comes along for adventure too,

With her, no loss for what to do.

Skipping and jumping and maybe we fly,

COVID-19 won’t be poking our eye.

Maybe there’s some hoping we die,

But their bitter taste has me laugh ‘til I cry!

Definitely Memorable

Gaining friends, losing friends, COVID-19, and all the other wonders that May has brought are definitely quite memorable. Can't remember the last time I had such an eventful month, one with so many ups and downs in such a short period of time. Heck, I even have some plans for the near future, the type of which I haven't made in quite some time.

Gotta keep pushing through the muck and riding this roller coaster we call life!
