Wisdom From The Master

"Do not try to approach God with your thinking mind. It may only stimulate your intellectual ideas, activities, and beliefs. Try to approach God with your crying heart. It will awaken your soulful, spiritual consciousness." -Sri Chinmoy

"Be universal in your love. You will see the universe to be the picture of your own being." -Sri Chinmoy

Two meta-physically charming and one reflective poem, as you like it, Linda C

Hush, Sweet Melody

Hush, sweet Melody, stay hold Thy tongue,

For this receptive Love, knows more than a

Thousand ways to listen. Each night’s flicker, has

Struggled against a hundred winds, but now its

Flame burns brightly, more than enough to see Thy face.

The old mind is gone, even if it took ten thousand

Sparkles, to align with shooting stars. My Heart’s

Pangs, has filled a million chalices with tear-drops,

Only to kiss the scent of Thy cute cheeks.

Hush, sweet Melody, for the song-birds symphony,

Is now a ceaseless rhapsody in my core.

Deep into the orchard of tulips and peach blossoms,

Your sweet breath, my bedazzling Light; Thy lips

The jewel, of unspoken Delight.

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier.22nd February, 2020.

A Chimera of Self-Created Shadows

I once lived on the wings of tomorrow,

Lost in the quagmire of my own illusions.

Love placed its sweet thorns on my experiences,

As roses smiled on the dawn of each new birth.

Planning, planning, yet all my visionary dreams,

Were all but echoes on the Light of Knowledge.

As the Master Alchemist, taught in no uncertain way,

Of only the sacrament of the present moment.

I pulled at the strands of outer opulence, until my

Mind snapped. Alas! I’m now deranged as the sun sets,

The Beloved carries me, in my hour of sorrow. I tried to live

In the future, not seeing the beauty of each treasured moment.

I was caught instead, like an entangled cloud,

In a deep chimera of grasping, at self-created shadows.

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 20th February, 2020

Whispering Rhythms to The Unknowable

Blind for millennia, I stood at the gates of Love

And cried incessantly. My tears became a raiment

For the Beloved, hindering Her escape, from the

Folds of my Being. She smiled alluringly, like

Someone wanting to be caught, entering my Heart

With Her beauty. Now the burning flames of hunger

I sent out, weeping from my soul, are all victorious.

All where, the Bird of Light proclaims my victory!

The bright flames of my supernal silence awakes;

Processions dance within the jubilant streets of

My tavern. Behold! The golden silhouette of

Her Majesty appears, bedecked in fire. Her scented

Robes, spreads their celestial mantle, on the crown of

My Spirit, whispering rhythms to the Unknowable.

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 22nd February, 2020.

It's beautiful, so fitting for Linda. Though I must admit, I have for so long lived in my mind and my restlessness continued. Today, I am learning to live in grace, letting the inner spirit guide me.

Yes, Lorna. A brilliant writer she is … a great and charming poetess you are, as well as a great complement for us two. Gratitude.

You should not be far off. Your devotion to God is admirable! True, language was my best subject at school and poetry I did home in the Caribbean. Still, the esoteric poetry I inherited from 38 years of spiritual practices and service to others.

Although you seem to be doing well, please feel free to write on sad days or despairing times. One tool I use I call 'acceptance.' Knowing that the tides goes both ways and that the 'ups' will return helps.

Let this be accompanied by an intense and unwavering Faith … a submission to the Will of the Supreme … acting in harmony with His Consciousness. We call this Devotion.

Always happy to read your work. Much Peace.
