The Mango No One Could Pick
I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.
A Lone mango hung from its stem high up in the tree
It had shiny red and yellow skin looking very tasty
Men came and saw and wanted to pick the mango to eat
Some tried climbing the tree even with their bare feet
But it was like magic as no one could reach the mango
It was far from a stable branch and you couldn't stretch and let go
Some boys flung stone trying to hit it down
A man came with a bow and arrow and tried his luck
But he missed every time and ended up puncturing the Tyre on a truck
A woman with a boomerang came and flung it hard
It missed the mango and broke a windows in old man Jacks yard
Billy came with a large hammer and began hitting the base of the tree
But the mango held firm in the tree
Everyone gave up and left the mango alone
Then came little Rickie skipping and singing on his way to home
He was panting and tired and leaned on the tree
Then all of a sudden he heard something came crashing through the leaves
He looked up and saw the mango came sailing towards his head
But little Rickie was swift and caught it instead
He laughed and skipped and started his journey again back to home
Enjoying his mango.
