I wake up in the morning,
Hurriedly getting ready.
This is just the beginning,
Great, the bus left already!
Then comes the morning assembly,
With the national anthem and the pledge.
Boredom overcomes me,
Already longing for the day to end.
Hours of studying and tests,
Presentations and lectures.
Without a moment of rest,
The threat of an uncertain future.
I will miss this one day, I know.
But that day is not today.
All I want is to have fun and let go,
And throw every last care away!
Happy International Students Day to all the wonderful students out there who work hard day and night for the promise of a bright future. You are amazing!
Don't give up! You're almost there :)
Why do we celebrate International Students Day on November 17?
International Students Day has an extremely tragic origin story. On November 17, 1939, the Nazi troops executed nine student leaders and sent over 1200 students to concentration camps. The Nazi troops had even closed all the Czech colleges and universities. The courage displayed by the students during this incident was unforgettable. To commemorate their legacy, since 1941, students from all parts of the world started celebrating November 17 as the International Students Day.
Therefore, it is imperative that on this day, we remember the heroes of the past.
