The Law of Karma: Poetry of Life

A creative writer at heart, Janis was first published at age 11. Most of her poems express core issues of love, loss, trauma, and healing.

Phenomenal Cause and Effect of Water

As water ripples, it causes a series of waves, moving one into the next. We know not when, nor how, it ultimately lands.

A Poem About Karma

Karma Waits

Once activated, it stills, yet ticks

Looming in its steadiness

Hovering like distant clouds, not to dissipate

No . . . karma waits, ready to pounce without warning

Unexpected entrance into incomplete circles of deeds

Like rippling waves reciprocating movement

Karmic energy boomerangs on its own clock

From one space in time to the next

Landing lessons on give and take

Delivered with pinpoint accuracy

Changing a life's course, for better or for worse

Completing its inevitable rotation

Ah, karma. Never disappoints. Just wait ~ and see.

Wonderful Janis.

So inspirational, especially for the ones who lose hope assuming that they are no getting the results for their deeds.

I forget to mention that I saw the entire video. A long one, but the woman is so sweet and explains quite well from a Buddhist perspective.

Thank you, Devika. I did take time to figure out a title that would incorporate the fact that it was a poem and not an article about karma. So glad you liked the poem.

A wonderful poem Janis which reminds us to always be aware of our thoughts and actions, otherwise, karma will strike. Very expressive and beautifully written.

Beautiful poem Janis, I am a believer of Karma too and I have seen it literally happen to a lot of people. It's true that what goes around comes around.

Jan.... Your poem is beautifully crafted. Our misdeeds as well as our kindnesses certainly have a ripple effect. Your analogy is spot-on. Well done!
