The Joy Of Indian Summer
Poetry
Sitting by the lake enjoying a warm gentle breeze
Bare feet dangling in the water feels so calming and relaxing
As the colorful leaves lazily fall from the branches of trees
Far away from the cares of the world and all that is taxing
So blessed to have time to read a good book
While birds chirp sweetly as they fly over my head
I hear the water flowing through a nearby brook
And notice children running through a creek bed
The rays from the sun are peaceful and put me at ease
Such a comfortable temperature for late September
The joy of Indian summer is always sure to please
It's a time of year that I will always cherish and remember
