The Journey. Thursday's Homily for the Devout, 20, With Love, to My Bhaia Ji, MG Singh (Emge)

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Wisdom from the Master

"Life's perfection-road is very long,

But the journey is richly rewarding." - Sri Chinmoy

"The determination in your heroic effort,

Will permeate Your mind and Heart

Long after your success or failure, has

Long since, been forgotten." - Sri Chinmoy

You must make this journey alone. No one else can do this for you

The Journey

The magenta leaves cascade and fall

With the seasons. The tree loses its

Lustre and seem to die, only to rise next

Autumn, even more beautiful than before.

Propelled by desires, I, a wayfarer, like

The tree, spins on an endless wheel of

Cause and effect, rising and falling like waves,

Until Grace, in its mercy, frees me from my plight.

Trapped in a womb carved out in shadows,

I’m held in chains of my own volition. My

Impediments are numerous. Ego fuels

My wrath like Salome’s did to Herod,

Using allure for the profits of passion.

Like flies caught in a mesh, the sweet veil of

Attachments binds me to wanton greed;

Insecurity stabs me like a naked sword.

The road ahead

I was once the Flute Player, not the flute. My Beloved

Longed to enjoy Its own game, shaping me out of formlessness;

I became a sojourner, in separation from my Source.

Involution beckoned me in the glint of rocks,

Until I was summoned into the plant kingdom,

Itself heralding the instinct of the higher animal realm.

After what seemed like millennia, I rose again a human –

A mariner on a golden boat, battling the winds to return Home.

Tossed by strong tides in a penury of darkness;

My cravings, like thorns, were shattered against the

Merciless rocks. I felt a ray of hope, like a distant

Lighthouse, coming to my rescue to guide me inwards.

Now I rejoice in the Bliss of infinitude –the

Pure land of ‘no name’, no place’, just Emptiness.

I’m at the summit of the mountain, steeped

In the serenity of celestial reverence, with Love,

The ultimate GPS, now flooding the Citadel of my soul.

Finally, I look over the mountains, to the neophytes below.

I hope to become a Boddhisatva, to be their awakened guide.

This is beautiful. This line struck me: There's a God-hour for all things. Yes, I need to have acceptance.

Thanks Bill.

Fabulous comment!

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on March 04, 2021:

Long Live MG...and Long Live Manatita! Love The Journey...perfect, beautiful, ethereal....from the Master of Words, to a fine writer in his own right. Excellent way to begin my day!

Blessings to you both!

You show a great understanding, Chitrangada Ji. Yes, I know you're from the land of spiritual giants. Kudos to you. Much Love.

Peggy, You are so sweet!

I'm trying to come to Texas as it looks pretty bad for my sister, but understandably both the UK and America have much tighter laws. Thank you so much!!

Dora, I love the way you put it. Guruji teaches that the journey is not complete until the freed soul returns to serve Mankind. You might say a 'Christ' state,, if you like. We call this Manifestation, a sort of Boddhisatva state. All major traditions have their equivalent. Gratitude ... much

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on March 04, 2021:

Compelling imagery of the journey: like the tree, spins on an endless wheel ... until Grace, in its mercy, frees me from my plight. Then the wayfarer becomes a guide. How rewarding!

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on March 04, 2021:

We are all sojourners in this life and must navigate it the best we are able. You always inspire us to dig deeper into the real meaning of life. MG should like this. Wishing you peace and happiness.

Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on March 04, 2021:

Beautiful tribute to M G Singh ji. I like the versatality of his writings.

Well weaved words in your poem, nice pictures and quotes to guide us through our journey of life. The video of Rumi's quotes is beautiful.

Each one of us has a different journey, exclusive to ourselves. Ups and downs are part of life, that none can escape. Whatever happens in our journey, is the will of God.

Thank you for sharing this.

Sankhajit Bhattacharjee from MILWAUKEE on March 04, 2021:

l really enjoyed your journey...best wishes forever...

manatita44 (author) from london on March 04, 2021:

So happy to hear from you!

As your brother, I am saying be practical. Avoid estremes and be ok with stumbling. It is a part of the process. Sri would say that you are in a golden boat. You don't have to row. Sleep when you must but stay in the boat. It is being Piloted or navigated for you.

Don't beat yourself, be loving but serve only from a position of strength ... inner strength. Manatita, your brother, loves you very much. Be vigilant! Watch and pray but be strong. Love is always merciful. Hope all this makes sense.

Now about my Hub, thank you so much!! - Manatita

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on March 04, 2021:

You seem to have come a long way, my spiritual sister Misbah. Let us walk together, amidst the light zephyrs, radiant sun ... the iridescent moon glistening in our Hearts.

A most exquisite comment!

I enjoyed the read Manatita

A great tribute to MG Singh

I am sure he willl also like it.

The quotes are lovely and quotes by Manatita are obviously amazing

I loved this one:

Struggle is a part of the journey.

Create within you the feeling of acceptance

And Love yourself. Nothing happens without the Will of God."

Life is the second name of struggle and yes of course there is a fixed time for everything to happen

Life is always a challenge so we must choose a spiritual path to make it feel easier,

when we accept that difficult situation will reward us something great. It makes us happier and gives us a ray of hope as well

Vanita Thakkar on March 04, 2021:

Chuckle. You know what 'Bhaia ji' means Pamela? Ha-ha. Your're so lovely, so I shouldn't tease you. It means 'revered or esteemed brother.' 'Ji' is a word for respect.

Much appreciation and thank you so much for your lovely comments. Spend 5 minutes with the video if you can, it says all I've ever said in very simple language, and is excellent food for the soul.

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on March 04, 2021:
