The Inviting Heavens: A Poem
Countless diamonds sprinkled up above
in a starry night enchanting and so calling
with something outlandish like a bizarre love
sending me its invitations with each star falling.
Sweet mystery overwhelming at times like tonight
million question-marks hanging from each star
yet something so familiar at every new sight
like a long lost home luring me from afar.
And then my eyes drop down unwilling like with sores
only to face a graveyard of questions left there to die
unattended, shunned, with all that hate, greed, wars
and giving inspiration for one more trembling sigh.
Maybe this is why all those beautiful creatures
those goddesses and angels of every name
along with every holy ascended teacher
chose heavens, avoiding this game.
But then again, this vast and sure empty space
that inspiration for loving and solemn prayers
maybe only looks attractive from this place
with all silly gamut of our human affairs.
So, even if you hold keys of that home above
don't rush to get there, life has more to give
don't indulge in hate, give a chance to love
heaven could be here, if you only forgive.
