The House on the Beach

Author:

Oh what a week it has been !!! Rules and regulations have changed here in Wales concerning our Health and Social Care System. By April this year every carer working within the system has to have an NVQ qualification or has to work towards a health and social care certificate. This I managed to complete this morning with a score of 90%. So glad it's done but also feeling quite chuffed with the outcome.

However back to my favourite world, my writing world and my hubfamily.

Hope you all enjoy.

Does our imagination dim with time? Not always!!

YESTERYEAR..........

The house on the beach

An infant small

Whitewashed in hue

Safety cries the call..

X

The house on the beach

Winds howled and scorned

But warmth seeps through

As daydreams formed.

X

The house on the beach

Each pebble and shell

A message so clear

A story to tell.

X

The house on the beach

Welcome and fresh

Careless dear decor

The fisherman’s mesh.

X

The house on the beach

Eternal the fight

The sea’s bewitching

Each egos flight.

x

The house on the beach

Windswept but strong

To live there

How I do long.

X

The house on the beach

Waves are a-playing

Curtains are a-waving

Chimney is a-smoking.

x

The house on the beach

Sings Come to me

Happy sea shanties

Echoes of the sea.

X

The house on the beach

An imperious old lady

Swelling with dignity

Stalwart and gritty.

X

The house on the beach

Nestled and cosy

Echoing melodies

A lingering sea shanty.

x

The house on the beach

I share with all

Feel my dream

Hear my call.

X

The house on the beach

Stands lowly but strong

Yearnings and longings

Cravings to belong.

X

The house on the beach

Stokes my fire

The tides of life

Swell my desire.

X

The house on the beach

Reflections in pools

No room for wasters

No welcome for fools.

x

TODAY..............

The house on the beach

Still reigned serene

Governing the beach

As a regal queen.

X

The house on the beach

Windows twinkling

Remembered me

I feel it’s thinking.

X

The house on the beach

Once again I explore

Still reigns that queen

Majestic to her core.

The house on the beach

Hushed are the winds

Enriched salt air whispers.

X

Heart warming crescendos

Over and over tides a-turning

Under the moon’s magical beam

Sprinkles of stardust

Emotions tinged with the Neptune’s potions.

X

Oh my heart yearns

Never ending tides of life’s high’s and lows.

X

Treading the sands of tomorrow

Heated is the longing deep from within

Elevated sprits.

X

Bravely each day moves on

Eternal the instinct

Awe filled and inspired

Coves to hover to rest

Hope is eternal hope is strong.

This poem makes me long for the house on the beach. Imagine the sunsets and sunrises, the smell of salt air, and the gentle sound of waves flowing over the sand.

You painted a beautiful picture, Eddy. Do you still live near the water?

Congrats on passing your exam. Your work is important. Just be safe. Try to steer clear of COVID-19.
