That morning I rode on the coaster train
A smooth scenic ride with no sign of rain
This place that once seemed so far away
Now was quite near
Just up ahead,
I saw the Oceanside Pier !
Such a wondrous interesting sight
On it the sun shone delicate and bright
Imagine that day way back in 1888
The town first saw this structure so great
The beauty of mid-morning, the mild air
As I walked along I couldn’t help but stare
At the serene seagulls that were on the way
Perched on the wood on this glorious day
Some don’t think you birds are so special to see
But you gulls are really quite gorgeous to me
I watch you observing with a touch of glee
You seem so peaceful, quiet and free
I also look out to the surfers who wait
For the next wave on this ocean so great
The gulls of the wooden pier at Oceanside
Bask along it with still quiet pride
Gazing out to the majestic blue sea
In them and this view, such beauty I see.

This is really evocative Nella, there is definitely something about the sea and seagulls... even if they pinch your chips sometimes. Beautiful thank you.
