The Grieving Luna

“The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”

The Grieving Luna
She's staring at the sky tonight
It's dark no trace of light
A longing grips her heart
Slowly tearing her apart
It used to be there
To drink her tears and clear the blur
To wash her wounds and so to heal
Every time she chants her great appeal
Now it's gone what's she to do
Her tears, like river they flow and flow
But seldom do they reach her hollow eyes
They've built a heart of stone and ice
She bleeds so deep might be for keeps
She begs so hard, she wants to sleep
Fair maiden with a serene face
Let me rest in your sweet embrace
