The Girl At The Window

my heart bleeds for the girl who sits at the window
Sadly she reclines gazing into emptiness
Locked in time where there is no pain or sorrow

A rose in early bloom withering too soon
An empty vessel beautiful and broken
My heart bleeds for the girl who sits at the window

As hard as I try, I just cannot ignore
This face of beauty that tragedy besets
Locked in time where there is no pain or sorrow

Her unseeing eyes hold a far away smile
She seems not of this world; she resides in the past
My heart bleeds for the girl who sits at the window

If only once we could exchange a glance
I'd open her heart infuse warmth, and she'll be no more
Locked in time where there is no pain or sorrow

My selfish eyes gaze with love upon the window
Is it kindness or cruelty to bring back reality
My heart bleeds for the girl who sits at the window
Locked in time where there is no pain or sorrow
