The Girl Behind the Curtain.
The Girl Behind the curtain
The girl behind the curtain,
Peeping out at the audience,
Searching for the brightest smile,
Was locked in the lasting eye contact;
And the feeling of pride was still intact.
With every minute passing by,
Illumination of spark is disappearing,
Doubtful thoughts started floating,
Every passing moment making them denser,
Accumulating them in this burdened head;
There is an upcoming disaster is the only thing it said.
Gradually, the smile restricted its finest form,
Initiated provident efforts to make it stick,
With the only hope for a miracle to hit;
Hard to accept, but that was life's only fit.
The sense of pride was no more,
The smile left the wanting face,
Lofty tears replaced the sparkling eyes,
Played tricks to put on an easy cover,
To hide them from the girl;
Who is still fixated at the same spot,
Holding the curtain tight without a single knot
Lacked confidence to come in the front,
And boldly face the Audience with might,
Realised, the opportunity is no more;
Right time passed to decide an action on core.
The dream just went away,
Hurried behind it unknowingly,
To bring the lost smile back,
But it was too late to justify the action;
And everything vanished with no guaranteed sanction.
Huge blanket of darkness spread over the place,
The girl lost herself in finding the light,
There to experience the blowdown,
But the mind went around on a stroll in the long tunnel;
Whose exit is yet to be known.
