The Dwendling Regime- Satire Poetry

I am a writer of poetry and fiction. I especially love flash fiction. My name is Ruby, and I live in Southern Illinois. I am a retired R.N.

the-dwendling-regime-satire-poetry

Please people vote for goodness sake!

How much longer are we going to hide our crimson faces in shame?

At the mere mention of his name

Belligerent, ignorant a real McCoy disgrace

The man ruling our white house with his smirking face

Lies, lies how much more can we tolerate?

If it was a demo we'd already be locked up behind that wired prison gate

The world is laughing at our thoughtless choice

now the voters long for their once proud voice

His buddy Putin is laughing all the way to his bank

Trump tower in Russia while our currency is headed for the tank

Soon we'll be spending the ruble instead of our dollar

The thought of changing our dollar is hard to swallow

The people he chose to lead his regime

A bunch of crooks like a grinding machine

" We asked for it " you say

Shamefully voting for a man who would rather play

Hookers, starlets, bunny girls anyone he chooses

He denies all the charges, yet the tapes prove it and he loses

Come November we can rectify our hopeful mistake

Go out and vote people for goodness sake!

Then hold our heads high, knowing we rid our white house of a poisonous snake.

Post note- If in November we elect people who will take away his power, then come 2020 we get back on track and elect a person who loves this country!!!

Ruby, I agree with your general description of our present situation. But I do caution you to stick to the facts which are damning enough to this immoral person we call, President. As far as we know, he has been legally exonerated of any interference in the last presidential election. Is that the truth? We may never know. But I agree with you fully. Let's do all we can to get rid of this man who is a moral and intellectual disgrace to our country.

Hello Shy, It looks like Muller couldn't find any collusion concerning Russia. I am shocked. How about his son's meeting with the Russian spy? I still say that his business dealings will get him sooner than later. So good to see you..Hugs

Shyron E Shenko from Texas on March 24, 2019:

Ruby! You hit the his head on the nail

which makes his orange face turn pale

Just wait till Putin presses down with his thumb

He will soon find out he isn’t smart

In fact he is really quite dumb

His bromance will sent him out of town by rail

He will find himself heading for hell.

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on August 17, 2018:

Hello Shy. I am so sorry for this delay. I have been so busy. My son Jackie has developed cancer in his lung and back. He had a small skin cancer on his back about 2-3 years, they removed it and said they got it all, well they didn't and it metastasized to the right lung and back. They are trying a new drug, infusing it every 3 weeks. I am so worried. Please have all our cyber family pray for healing. I haven't forgotten you, and I hope to be back writing when this all passes.

Shyron E Shenko from Texas on August 01, 2018:

Ruby, Ruby my gem of a friend

I’ve missed you so much

I kept hoping you would stay in touch

Then I saw a comment you made

I went to your profile to find a hub

Where you are calling the spade a spade

My thoughts: how apropos

Ruby you know more than most folks know

And there is so much more that don’t show

Maybe someday he will get his just deserts

And someone will hit him where it hurts

~ ~ ~ ~

Blessings and hugs my dear friend.

P.S. the last election should be overturned!!!

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on June 16, 2018:

Mark Tulin from Ventura, California on May 06, 2018:

I hear you. A real snake in the grass.

Ruby Richert on April 14, 2018:

Oh my goodness! I didn't know it was you. Yes, long time no see. it's a small world. Good to see you..

Verlie Burroughs from Canada on April 14, 2018:

LOL always, it's me snakeslane long time no see lady.

Ruby Richert on April 14, 2018:

Hello Verlie, so nice to meet you. Yes the frustration is building daily. We never know what's coming next. The thought of building a fence and dropping bombs seems to excite his ego. He is a true narcissist. I see you are from Canada, my husband was born in Fisherville Canada. He came to the US when he was seventeen to enter Concordia Teachers university in River Forest Il. Thank you for reading and leaving a nice comment.

Verlie Burroughs from Canada on April 12, 2018:

What a shout Ms Ruby. Not a Trump supporter I take it? :) I was sure surprised when he got elected, I can feel your frustration in this piece. It's all a bit bizarre, what's going on at the moment. I keep wondering if we're all going to die, not a good feeling.

Ruby Richert on April 12, 2018:

Hello Manatita. You set on the fence, NEVER---- To live in this world, one has to be aware. I remember the first time I voted, I was married and had my son Jackie. Two priests came to my door and asked me if I was old enough to vote, of course that won me over! They asked me to vote for John Kennedy and I did. I don't think I've ever missed voting from that time on. I look forward to your poetry. Cheers...

manatita44 from london on April 11, 2018:

Yes, I am.

Guru never encouraged sitting on the fence. I was once an American Resident. Don't know what I am now. Still, the power of the White House machinery finds me every week via email. It is I who am the ghost. Ha ha. More seriously, yes we all have or have had ghosts. Read my last poem. Right now it is but I will post another very soon. Peace.

Ruby Richert on April 11, 2018:

Hello Mar. I guess I am on fire, even Paul Ryan must be on fire too, he resigned today. WhoHoo...Thank you for coming. I put a video on but it was soo slow I deleted it and tried to put another one on and it was worse..Cheers my friend

Ruby Richert on April 11, 2018:

Hello Manatita. Ha, I'm sure they have ghosts in their closets, as we all do? Just a rant, can't wait to go vote. Are you a registered voter? I hope so!! Cheers my friend

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 11, 2018:

Hello Devika.. Thank you much. It's always good to hear comments from someone outside of America. Cheers

Maria Jordan from Jeffersonville PA on April 11, 2018:

You are back, Ruby - that muse of yours is on fire... Love and hugs, mar

manatita44 from london on April 10, 2018:

Ha ha Ruby.

First, believe in re-incarnation (chuckle), then you can invoke some of the Founding Fathers: Jefferson, Washington, Emerson, Lincoln ... Dickinson to advise ... ok, I've gone too far.

Now about your lyrics and rhyming scheme, I absolutely loved it. You done well, my lady, as they say. Must be Love! Love you, Ruby or Mrs Richert, right? Peace.

Devika Primić from Dubrovnik, Croatia on April 09, 2018:

Powerful words about politics, You have created the force in your own words.

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 09, 2018:

Hello Martie. I was hoping SA had gotten rid of the President by now, guess not? You are correct all we can do is vote. People still have the power, yet few realize that fact. Hope all is well with you. Hugs my friend.

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 09, 2018:

Hello Eric. I am a happy camper, yet I watch the political field closely. The woman he chose to control our public schools is a private school advocate and would rather do away with public schools, It's a public record. I am always happy to see you. Thank you

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 09, 2018:

I know you are correct about the low count of voters, but surely they see the man by now and are as ashamed as we are. I read that only 18 % if Il. voters bothered to vote the last off season, that's why Trump and his kind are ruling now. All we can do is HOPE..

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 09, 2018:

Hello Mike. I know you are correct, yet I still fear mainly because my son is not waking up to the fact that he is a man who is deeply flawed. If other people feel the same then we're in trouble. Thanks for coming, always good to see you.

Clive Williams from Jamaica on April 08, 2018:

Ruby Jean RICHART! You sly devil you, Nice as usual

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 08, 2018:

Hello Genna. I feel the same as you. I am so ashamed when he tweets incoherent remarks. We are the laughing stock around the world.. Hopefully the people who voted for him will see the true man and rethink their vote and vote him out of office. ( If he's still a resident of the WH? ) thank you for a thoughtful comment..

Ruby Richert on April 08, 2018:

Hello Cape Wind Girl. You nailed Trump perfectly. Good for you! Thanks for gracing my page.

Ruby Richert on April 08, 2018:

Hello Frank. You were one of many who couldn't vote for either one, but this off season vote is very important. We need to elect sane people who will oppose his craziness. He speaks of war like a kid playing toy soldiers. Thanks for coming to read my satire..

Ruby on April 08, 2018:

Hello Shy. It felt good writing about a man who cares nothing about America, he's with the money and people still think he cares about them. Hopefully his power will be removed when America votes capable people in congress and the senate. Thanks my political friend...

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 08, 2018:

Hello Chris. It's true about the tax break. He's dumb enough to think that will give him a win in November, even the good republicans know that. I think they want him out of the WH as much as we do. Thanks for coming by....

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 08, 2018:

Hello Nikki. I can see you feel the same as I . Happy you enjoyed my rant. Thank you much...

Martie Coetser from South Africa on April 08, 2018:

Welcome back Ruby! Voting is the only civilized thing to do. Positive wishes from SA.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on April 08, 2018:

Well done. I am sure glad that my view of the world is not through politics. I don't know anyone who pays attention to it to be real happy. Somehow the federal funds keep coming our way to make our school great.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on April 08, 2018:

Huge election coming up this November. If ever we needed a record turnout of voters, now is the time. One thing I know for sure: The Left turns out in greater numbers than the Right when there is a motivating factor...and Trump is indeed a motivating factor.

mckbirdbks from Emerald Wells, Just off the crossroads,Texas on April 08, 2018:

Hello Ruby - What a wonderful piece of writing. You squarely hit the nail on the head with this. America is strong, this is a temporary, yet damaging, episode. In eight months his power will be taken away.

Genna East from Massachusetts, USA on April 08, 2018:

Spot on, Ruby...you go girl! :-) I am weary of watching the Kardashian-like reality show in the Oval Office, and of having our intelligence insulted every time he gives a speech or releases one of his myopic tweets.

One thing we can count on with Mr. Trump: Whatever he says, we can early on the fact that 1) it isn't fact; 2) he hasn't done his homework, and 3) he will soon contradict himself.

And I'm tired of the Bunny parade and the revelations of just how many times he cheated on his wife.

The tax cuts are what the GOP has wanted for some time, so I don't give Trump much credit for them...although the pendulum will swing in the opposite direction once the price tag for such cuts has been fully realized.

I won't get into the rollback of EPA regs...they are, in many instances, criminal.

Anywho, enjoy your Sunday. Hugs.

Leslie McCowen from Cape Cod, USA on April 08, 2018:

The tax bill is a scam https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/...

The president is a ham

The debt is rising,

Dems He's despising

Melania's legality a sham.

*******

Isn't it grand that Vladimir is invited here?? After he hacked the democrats??

It's as if republicans like him more than they do us.

Isn't that something.....

I think someone's are trying to make us in their own image....just like they do with god.

Keep up the good work, Ruby!

Frank Atanacio on April 07, 2018:

Damn his job sounds wonderful how do I get it? LOL ... Ever since I could vote.. I always picked and chose carefully.. this past election I didn't vote... Couldn't deal with Clinton and couldn't stand Trump.. so I chose to stay at home.... Maybe the frying pan was better than the fire.. ... Love the write Always exploring Frank

Shyron E Shenko from Texas on April 07, 2018:

Ruby, Ruby my gem of a friend where oh where do we begin

To cleans our White House of it's prideful sins

He told all who aided him,

"you knew I was a snake when you let me in"

Then he installed his brood and the White House became his din

But, who has learned a lesson some would just let him right back in.

Blessings Ruby this is great.

Chris Mills from Traverse City, MI on April 07, 2018:

Ruby, I'm with you. I want the circus clown out of the White House. But we have a problem. He handed America a tax reform plan that will likely be seen as a big deal. Because of that, even a majority of Democrats give him favorable marks. In my way of thinking, nothing erases his comments about women, nothing justifies his childish behavior during the primaries. I'll take the tax breaks because it's my money, but I look forward to the end of this man's term in the White House.

Nikki Khan from London on April 07, 2018:

Well done Ruby!

Loved it reading and laughed at of course people who voted for such an incapable person to become President of United States.

Your poetry is just wonderful and gives a new spirit to get this snake out of white house sooner in order to save whole world from his poisonous bites.
