The Day the Light Went Out
The Waters In The Valley
The Waters In The Valley Where The Trees Used To Be
The waters in the valley where the trees used to be
now spread across the land, covered every single tree.
Reflections of the sky absorbed in a sort of liquid shroud,
hiding all the creatures, melted rock like decayed cloud.
When beauty saw these things, that lived before her time, she vowed
that devils torment would leave a painting of a head so bowed.
Then when the king of rain set eyes, on how this painted creature there,
enriched with snakes and birds of prey, the tones of colour from the earth,
locked forever in the where !
Knowing change was on its way, would there be a sun again ?
That was the day the light went out and all the land was swallowed by the rain
