The Actor — A Poem

The Actor

The Actor

Playing the gentlemen
Was never his strong suit,
But who does he think he should be?

The villain at large,
Or the meek little storekeeper —
Whose wife is always alee?

Well, maybe today,
The role he shall play
Will be the man on the junk in the sea.

The role suits him well —
For until today,
The parts he’d played seemed out of key.
