In 2016 words began tumbling onto the page, forming songs of heartspeak. Giving birth to a love of writing poetry and ecclectic articles.

“That Crybaby Feeling”

Are we collaborators?

or, foes?

Do we move each other forward?

Or, do we deny and injure each other?

Some believe in a just world

Some believe each to their own

Are we the prey?

Are we the predator?

Not You?

It will happen

Someone will come along

lie about you

stab you in the back

deny your reality

misunderstand you

point fingers at you

accuse you of terrible things

It will stun you

Wound the deepest part

of you

Those that you thought

would never betray you?

do, betray you

Your body is filled

with righteous rage

Source

The more the perpetrator

demeans humiliates

and devalues you

the more disgust and hatred

flies to your face

The more positive the word

a kickback lashes out

from the bystanders

about the injustice

done to you

Injustice continues

when you are delivered

as subhuman

Perpetrators stop bystanders

outrage, by performing

acts of intimidation

and covering up

what they are doing

to you

The perpetrators are skilled

in denying reality

The longer the perpetrators

pound away

the closer they get you

to falter

and stop defending yourself

so that you end up

believing their falsities

about you

Their mission accomplished

You are now injured

and/or you side

with the powerful perpetrator’s group

Source

If torture, whether physical or emotional

is carried out in public

a backlash reaction would happen

to the perpetrator

That is why it is surrounded

with secrecy and denial

The perpetrator covers up

His/her actions through

labelling

humiliation

and degradation

So, you are now known

as something less

than human

This enables the perpetrator’s justification

To keep on administrating

the suffering

and the injustice to you

..whatever you do, don't run back to who broke you...

— Frank Ocean

Revenge builds

righteous anger

that is borne out of suffering

without a cause

Stay in it?

Break free?

If I listed the injustices

could I see

what I can or cannot control?

Maybe

And then?

I could know

what I needed to work on

to move forward

But could I really

still build

a meaningful life

from injustice and disadvantage?

Is my sadness

and anger

holding me back?

Or, propelling me forward?

Gotta stop defending myself

Gotta stop lashing out

Otherwise it is a self-fulfilling prophecy

I become the crazy person

that the lies have told

What if I ask myself

will this wrongdoing matter

in the grand scheme of my life?

Yes, it most certainly will

What about You?

...everyday is another chance at life. Another chance to get closer to what you desire...
