Thankful For My Whole Body

I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.

Thank You

Thank You

Thanks for my legs and feet

They keep me moving me to good things or escaping danger on the streets

Thank you for my arms legs and fingers

I am able to hold and feel, I can move things out of my way which hinders

Thank you for my eyes which gives me sight

I am able to see the ugliness of man, but the beauty of mankind and the sun which gives us light

Thank you for my hears, they keep me in tuned with all the marvelous vibration of sounds

Whether it is a large gong or the effects of rain beating on the ground

Thank you for my nose, I can smell the little stinker from hear

Then I escape to the rose garden with a fresher atmosphere

Thank you for my tongue, it makes me express sounds in the sweetest ways

And not to mention the power of taste

Thank you for my lips

Especially because they were made for me to kiss

Thank you for making me Whole, not short of a sense or limb

Thank you for life, hence for to you my soul I give.

So cool. Reminds this old preacher of Matt. 5:30 and 1 Cor. 12:20 or so. And I think that us writers are part of a body.

I can love my body even when others laugh at it!

If you’ve ever lost in of these senses you quickly become aware how valuable they are. Sight was the toughest for me, even though one eye and it thankfully returned.
