What does it mean to be thankful?
To picture every human being who has ever been there for you?
How does one show gratitude?
By repaying a kind deed with another kind deed or two?

Maybe it's looking at your loved ones
And considering how blessed you are,
Or re-evaluating your life choices
And are at peace that you have come so far,

Maybe it's the simple things
Like a smile when handed a gift,
Or when your eyes shine bright
As the candles on your birthday cake are lit,

Or maybe its a smile from a stranger
A way of them saying "thank you for your kindness."
Or giving a great big hug
One that's pure, sweet and mindless,

Gratitude is embedded in memories
Like care when you are sick,
It's being there for someone
Through situations thin or thick,

It's looking to God with love
For the breath of life everyday,
For His constant protection
And His wondrous way,

It's appreciation of your life
It's who you have become,
A celebration of the people and situations
That produced this outcome,

And Thanksgiving
A holiday based on appreciation,
A time to gather around and tell what we are thankful for
To our friends and family a mere dedication,

I'm thankful for the air we breathe
For the life that God gave me,
I'm grateful for little wonders
And miracles we cannot see,

I'm thankful for my friends
The ones who stayed,
Who made my life a little lighter
And the ones in my past who really cared,

I'm thankful for my family
The sacrifices my mother made,
The provision my father worked hard for
And the joy that for me was laid,

I'm thankful for all that has happened
My passion as a writer taking flight,
And that I'm at peace
And feel like everything is just right,

So I thank God
For all He has given me,
And with all my heart I wish you all
A Happy Thanksgiving.

Very true. We must really hold on to the good that seems to be fading.

Very beautiful, also because gratitude is slowly disappearing from our planet.

JayDee,

How much more could we ado that list? Because it is my belief that in real, there's but one thing to be thankful for and that is, "since I exists everything else exists to assist me finding the understanding to life's riddle". I would nor could ever have grasp what little I comprehend if it were not for everything in its place for me to question for it to project back to me - or tell me in words I can understand - their purpose for us to comprehend the purpose for our being.

I hope your day of Thanks Giving fulfilled your need for giving thanks.

Peace.
