Little Lily had a stuffed bear,
With soft curly brown hair,
And an adorable button nose.

She would carry him here,
And she would carry him there,
From all the teddies she got he's the one she chose.

She's had him since she was born,
And even if those days are gone,
She vowed they would never depart.

Nothing can take his place,
No matter what anyone says,
Mr. Buttons has stolen her heart.

But things are about to change,
News that will make her feel strange,
That will change her feelings maybe.

For mommy and daddy sat her down,
And with no hint of a frown,
Said "Honey we are going to have a Baby"

Now the months had past,
And the day came by fast,
A day unlike any other.

As Lily and her bear,
Who she hugged with so much care,
Invited into the world her baby brother.

It's been a year later,
And Aiden is a toddler,
With a sense of adventure inside.

Lily loved her brother,
With a love like no other,
But this next decision was hard alright.

For the next couple of nights,
Aiden would wake up with a fright,
Lily would hear him cry.

As her parents rushed to him,
She noticed something,
"He doesn't have a Mr. Buttons" she would sigh.

So the next day,
In a heartbreaking way,
She hugged Mr. Buttons a lot.

"I love you so,
But he needs you more,"
And she placed him in Aiden's cot.

Once it became known,
Her parents marveled at how much she had grown,
And Aiden had a peaceful night sleep.

Lily would check on her brother,
Just like her mother,
And he was hugging Mr. Buttons indeed.

Her heart filled with love at the sight,
No more did he wake up with a fright,
Cause from his arms Mr. Buttons never will depart.

Lily did have him since she was born,
And now she has learnt to move on,
For she knew he will always be in her heart.

For her bond with her brother grew,
And from this moment she knew,
Mr. Buttons will be held with care.

But who could have known,
That Lily and Aiden have grown,
To love each other with the help of a Teddy Bear.

What a rich presentation of love in its purest form, the love of one child for another. If I were an emotional boy I think it would make me cry as in such a elegant rhyming way you presented your narrative.

Thank you very much for it.
