Teardrops, Like Raindrops, Falling Down

The times are all changing, seems that all is rearranging,

Going from bad to worse, each woeful verse, exchanging.

Always seems in dreams we dread no better days ahead,

Rights we hold so dear, now we live in fear, shortchanging.

Momma always said when it rains the angels are crying,

Teardrops come falling down, can't stop,

no matter how hard we're trying.

Heaven only knows, this life we all chose, a sad ending,

The celestial ones, a message are sending,

All just helping us, intending.

We have hopes for tomorrow, if only what we borrow,

Every day gets harder than before, so much sorrow.

It's hard to sleep at night, for we always live in fright,

We can't get rest, if we do we're blessed, till daylight.

Momma always said, when it rains the angels are crying,

Teardrops come falling down, can't stop,

No matter how hard we're trying.

Heaven only knows, this life we all chose, a sad ending,

The celestial ones, a message are sending,

All just helping us, intending.

Their teardrops have another purpose, one so grand,

They replenish the drying earth, do all across the land.

If tomorrow brings hard times, we can take each one,

There'll be a radiant rainbow, then followed by the sun.

Momma always said the sunlight is the best at the dawn,

If we all just try, we'll never have to cry,

Never to give up, our best keep on.

A new day we'll always see, a better chance to be,

We can overcome fear, wipe away every tear,

For hope and faith shall set us free.

It's hope and our faith that will set us free.

Nice poetry. Hope will eventually set us free, true. It is a bird that just can't stop flying. Peace.
