Tea and Anime (A Sedoka)

I can't seem to stop writing poetry or reading poetry. I think it is safe to say I love poetry and I love sharing great poetry with others.

Tea and Anime

A. Hyouge Mono

A lone swordsmen stands

"would you die for tea kettle"

watching shooting stars

determine fate of empire

sky fell upon samurai.

Fantasy tea room

a generational love

of ceremonial time

tea and anime

these are tales of pure fiction

drama unfolds as we sip.

A kind of black brew

learn of new tea brewery

"Excuse my mean words my lord

there will be no fight

bicker after a moment

of steam and strong aroma."

With wisdom of tea

drink from helmet worn in war

this history and our classics

when the bad is good

where the good is sometimes bad

battle will pause for good brew.

B. Japanese Tea Ceremony

Samurai army

a Katatsugi tea jar

sea going vessel to war

will silently sit

they let their swords lie to side

consume before battle tea.

A black square tea bowl

intricate engraved dragons

one bowl tan and plain as white

leaf in square bag

calm collection of many

in unison their cups lift.

One of three arts

the littleness of great things

power in scoop of Matcha

great tea gatherings

or two well dressed Law Makers

or Merchants selling their wares.

A tea elitist

would demand a tea event

with sword and polite tea cakes

always thin color

when our swords are both set down

to close our eyes for a drink.

A unique composition.

This is great, Jamie! I like the Japanese influence in the wording and you have woven some tea history into this delightful piece. Animé is popular now isn't it? My granddaughter is very much into it.
