Take the Gray Days

I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my wonderful cat Sid.

remember-to-keep-smiling

Take the gray days

and mix them up with smiles,

shake really well,

for a good-natured cocktail -

to get you through a rough day.

Take the gray days

and stir them up with some fun,

something to make your soul sing,

add friends for laughter,

your day will lose its darkness,

ever after.

Take a gray day,

close your eyes,

listen to the music,

that makes you sigh,

soon you’ll be having,

daydreams so very bright,

they’ll dry your tears -

turn your frown upside down.

Take a gray day,

you know you can’t throw it away,

but you can find something,

to make your day,

less dreary

and then my dearie -

we can go dancing in the rain.

Take a gray day,

find loving words to say,

share the images from your heart,

you know I loved you right from the start,

make the rainbows shine in the sky.

So take a gray day,

make it extraordinary,

you’ll soon see,

that the birds,

will be singing in the trees

and your mood,

will become more cheery,

always remain my dearie offering me –

images from your heart!
