Love is Laughing About Nothing
When In Love . . .
Have you ever been so in love that you don't have to receive much from your love interest to feel tingly inside? Their being in your presence is enough. It could be the sound of their voice, their smell, or the way they laugh. It seems like nothing but it's everything to you. The following poem speaks to those seemingly insignificant things when seen through the eyes of love, appearing to take on an unconditional quality. Those little things one may take for granted or dismiss as "nothing," are some of the most precious things when you're in love.
A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day's work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there's no need for continuous conversation, but you find you're quite content in just having them nearby.

A Poem About Nothing "In Love"
Sweet Little Nothings
It's in the eyes, sneaking a stare
He asks, "What?"
She answers, "Nothing"
With a subtle grin
It's in the accidental brush of skin
He jumps and says, "Oh, sorry!"
She replies, "It was nothing."
While melting inside that first touch
Cuddling on a sofa
No rush to be anywhere
Content to let time pass
To enjoy the feel of nothing to do
It's the sound of her voice
Unique in pitch and tone
The way she says, "Thank you."
Seems like nothing, but warms the heart
It's the scent of his hair
Nothing new, same shampoo
But the familiar smell hits the soul
Like the strike of a match
Love makes the ordinary divine
Like fresh blooms of spring
Same time each year
But nothing compares to the colors
Love takes nothing for granted
Holding onto special moments
As if each were the last
Sharing sweet sacred space as one
When two souls are one, they hear each other, even in silence.

Time Goes By "In Love"
"Nothing" as Word Prompt
This poem article was written in response to the word prompt "nothing," offered by fellow HubPages writer and poet Brenda Arledge. Week 55's-word prompt made me think of ways to talk about how "nothing" could be interpreted positively in love relationships. The quiet, silent times filled with no words or particular activity, but full of love between two people, was explored as I let my mind run romantically.
Brenda continues to challenge our community of writers, prompting us to stretch our thinking and creative writing skills with a single word. Her word prompts help us as writers, step outside of our boxes and into our senses, allowing our muses to come forth. Thank you, Brenda, for another great exercise.
Love is in the Smile
Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.
