Surviving The Wait

I'm not trying to be anything
Survival is its own motivation
A bottle of wine must be opened
But that's not trying, it's only living
A glass in hand, two swallows later
Time has changed, a different world
It just happens, now I'm ready
To smile, to think, to get over it
Whatever it may be, however small
I need help sometimes, to move on
From a thought that won't die
Or a life that's stuck, waiting on time
Waiting is the worst, limbo attracts sloth
That's why I'm not trying right now
It won't change anything, especially time
It's not mine anyway, only what I do with it
