Sunny Day by the Sea
Hot Sunny Day
Hot Sunny Day
The woman was barefoot.
The hot sun was beating down on her
as she was looking up.
Soon the sun would fade
it would be replaced by moon and stars.
Tears slipped down her face
and she didn't know why.
She dabbed them away with her long flowing skirt,
edged with lace.
A patch of water near a rock
was an ocean to the tiny creatures living there.
She teased the tiny fish with her toes. Toe nails brightly painted
matching colours of the fish.
She stooped to move the seaweed tangled round her ankles, slim.
The ground was very hot beneath her feet
as she ran swiftly in the glittering sand.
Long hair flowing as she moved then clambered up some rocks nearby
and stopped to make a wish.
She smiled and stepped on the highest rock.
Arms unfurled.
This was her world. A sea so peaceful as in she dived.
Into the unknown.
