Strangers Yet Friends
Nithya Venkat enjoys writing about nature and different aspects of life in the form of poetic verses.
We make so many friends through social networking sites across the globe, all thanks to the internet. Come to think of it do we really know them well?
This is a poem about such wonderful friends beyond boundaries between countries across the globe.
Through the internet
I know you
I know not how you look
Nor do I show you
My true self as I truly am
It is just an icon that represents me
Strangers yet friends we are and will be
Through intricate network of cables
We chat and communicate
On the internet coffee table
We relive our tales
We exchange greetings
Send wishes, warmth and love
We talk for real
Networking somehow
I cannot see you
You cannot see me
Unless we are on live chat
In front of a camera
You and me
Mostly somehow
We never are
But still we are true friends
We all can take a bow!
In the virtual world of reality
I don’t know you
You don’t know me
I know about you from what you write
I develop an image of you in my mind
And you become my true friend real time
I truly care for you and you truly care for me
We are strangers yet friends
On the Social Network
This is how things nowadays work
