Stiff Minds: A Poem
I recently talked with someone politically blind
blindness enhanced by religious mental spasm
and I could bet you must already know that kind
that draws out of you the spontaneous sarcasm.
One can't help but be greatly shocked
over stranglehold of such fanatic belief
witnessing a mind completely blocked
never challenging itself and utterly stiff.
At that very point you start clearly seeing
many aches tormenting our strange race
like flaw in the design of the human being
most notably this peculiar inflexibility case.
Pushing their beliefs like irrefutable facts
many resent someone's different views
even resorting to some inhuman acts
to prevent others to freely choose.
Like those folks that are hating "infidels"
a Westerner may hate where you stand
and to every keen observer it clearly tells
how little about our nature we understand.
