Life is fleeting, enjoy it while you can

Time Is But an Afterthought
I was young and proud
A scion of growth and potential
Bastion of life and power
A redoubt of majesty
Adoration I received,
Adulation I was showered
Garlands heap upon heap,
Lauded was I
Snow and tempest
Come they may
Still I towered
Still I soared
Yet, all things change
And voices are altered
Where praise and accolade was
Now lay ridicule and scorn
Millenia has passed
I stand weathered and battered
Made weak by the hands of time
Distorted by reality
My might may be an afterthought
Still I will not yield
Much abide, though much is gone
Strong my will remains
