Somewhere Between the Darkness and the Dawn

I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida. .

in-the-black-of-night

Night melodies play,
they can be happy or sad,
express togetherness or loneliness
and somewhere between the darkness and the dawn -
we can find ourselves again.
Togetherness beings love and passion,
a time to dream side by side,
dance cheek to cheek beneath the moon above
and always make true love shine.
When alone music can bring back,
the days of yesteryear,
make golden memories sparkle,
bring smiles or tears,
as together we promenaded through the years.
As I glance at photos,
you are there waving to me,
smiling once more
and it then fills my heart with joy,
Somewhere between the darkness and the dawn,
we can always find a new way -
to greet a new tomorrow with no more sorrow.

Great write.

There is certainly loneliness or togetherness somewhere in between.

I love how you say we can always find a way to greet tomorrow with no sorrow.

Hi Gypsy,

I loved it and life does happen somewhere between the darkness and dawn. I am happy i got to read this poem.

Living in the back woods of Florida--everything happens between the darkness when the wild creatures come out to eat and play. Then, they disappear at dawn.
