So We Too, May Love. Friday's Inspiration 18, to Shauna Bowling, a Very Dear Friend

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Aphorisms of Sri Chinmoy

"Life is a long road

Along the road at every moment

We must remain cheerful and

Self-offering." - Sri Chinmoy

"Obstacles are meant

To be surmounted.

Shun self-doubts

And be victorious." - Sri Chinmoy

So we, Too, May Love

For we are in a ‘night’ of struggle, a seismic shift

Created by the Laws of Cause and Effect, to untangle

Our inner challenges. The Supreme Alchemist works

On our eyes and Hearts, so that we can see the dawn

Through our dark forests of desperation and despair.

Fear and loneliness sing sad songs, as

Insecurity and uncertainty hang on to the

Window, calling upon hope, to shift this crucible

Of fire. Yet all is well; the bird of faith will

Sooner or later ascend on the Citadel of the soul.

For we are the sons and daughters of tomorrow’s

Sun, glowing with a thousand beams, yet to remove

The veil, casting aspersions on this peerless Jewel

Which we are –the song-bird of perennial Freedom.

Summer’s the precursor of winter; a ‘snow-filled’ Christmas,

Will ultimately fade, in the fragrant roses of spring.

Doesn’t the ashen clouds, eventually make way for the

Silvery sky? Isn’t the darkness, an antecedent to the light

Of day? Yet the shooting stars dance, even as sunset

Heralds the sunrise, on another golden morn.

Winter Clematis

I am in chains, seeking my flame, as in the ‘allegory of

The cave’; trapped in my self-created tunnel of shadows.

Yet the Beloved beckons --the Light of the Beyond

Who yearns for me, like the prodigal son, to return Home.

The breeze of solace embraces me, piercing through my

Mistiness of sorrows, cascading flames of an illustrious lantern,

Glowing in the dark, entreating: “Go on! Go on!” Hope chants

Verses of a candescent ray, diligently preening my mind of cobwebs.

I need only to let go of the vice of negativity, created

By faceless words I read; ears tainted by the venom

Of rotten snakes on electronic devices, while Professor

Zoom, smiles all the way to his foreign bank on my account.

Alas! My Government are humans too; yet even while

I scan their thoughts, like an x-ray machine, searching

For answers to another massive lockdown, love, in its

Mercy, continues to nudge my Heart with sweet songs of

Happiness, whispering with Satchmo: “It is still a beautiful world!”

Mother Gaia waltzes upon the lap of tomorrow,

Celebrating the birth of another victory. The rays of

Celestial splendour work their magic, and I know I’ll be O.K.

I fade into a seed and take roots, sprouting into a plant;

A tree with branches and foliage, offering my flowers,

Blossoms and fruits to the impoverished, so that we too… may Love.

Aphorisms of Sri Chinmoy

"Let it be the time for all of us

To give up negative

feelings about each other." - Sri Chinmoy

"Use every good will

At every moment -

Do not save it! - Sri Chinmoy

Sha, in my Heart this is a very beautiful poem; one laced with many images of Hope. I wrote it to inspire humans and had no one person in mind. I wanted to use images to inspire beauty, even while touching on the current challenges. That way makes it relatable. In my poem, 'Reflections on Behaviour' first stanza, I say that souls are receptive, only to the extent that they have been kindled.

We are all like that and hence the varying comments. This is the love of my Heart to you, don't worry. Peace.

Shauna L Bowling from Central Florida on January 13, 2021:

Manatita, forgive me for being so late to this piece. I'm touched. However, the words lead me to believe you think I'm in despair. And judging from some of the comments, fellow writers are under the impression I'm ailing or hurting. Neither are true. I'm alive, well, healthy, and still wearing my rose-colored glasses. I'm a very positive person. Nothing much gets me down - at least not for long - and I always look for the upside in a situation. My eyes and heart are drawn towards beauty and peace.

Thank you for thinking of me, my friend. You're a gem!

Oh, is something wrong with her? Didn't know.

Thank you so much, Peggy. All this gloom can get a bit too much for the best of us. May she be well.

So true, Linda, yet we must learn this through experience. No one enters the gates of Love carrying burdens. Thank you so much!

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on January 08, 2021:

manatita44 (author) from london on January 08, 2021:

All the best to them, Ann. Ealing is offering free test now, I guess because so many carry the virus without knowing

My poetry is upbeat, yes, yet I'm aware of the plight of human suffering. We were once children and are once again, nestling , like kids, on the lap of the immortal. This too will pass, as nothing happens outside the Ordainer's sanction and God is always merciful. Peace.

Ann Carr from SW England on January 08, 2021:

Upbeat and encouraging; a light on the horizon. I'm not too worried but then I don't have to go to work. However, my family is awaiting test results so I'm a little bothered! Think positive, I say.

Lovely tribute to Shauna, who is such a lovely person.
