So Senseless

So easily the trigger is pulled

Without any thought of human life

It didn’t mater if there were children

parents friends a husband or a wife

Living in the moment twinkling of an eye

A wrong choice has caused another person to die

Unable to contain emotions of rage

Now the shooter will be locked in a cage

Two families whose lives are ripped apart

By senseless violence that’s breaking their hearts

A poem with a great message! All life has sanctity. This can no longer go on. We have to take measures to endeavor to prevent and stop the killing of precious lives. Blessings to you.

Cheryl, you captured the senselessness of murder and its tragic consequences. So sad, but so true.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on October 09, 2019:

How many times has that been said, Cheryl, in just as many different ways that has fallen on death ears of those who do it? The hearts of the people doing it has to be changed and our preaching to the choir will never reach them but it just might prevent someone teetering that way from falling into the trap.

Thanks for sharing it in such magnificent verse.

Lorna Lamon on October 09, 2019:
